About Elder Evans

Elder Donald T. Evans is a devoted leader in the faith community, serving as Pastor of “The Blessed Church” in Columbus, Ohio, formerly known as “The Temple of Praise Church.” His journey in ministry began long ago, with ordination in August 1986 under the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC) of the Apostolic Faith Inc. A man of unwavering faith, Elder Evans wholeheartedly believes in the power of prayer, often drawing strength from his favorite scripture, Matthew 6:33: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." 

He is the beloved son of Betty and Grady Evans, grateful brother to four brothers and one sister. Married for 44 years to Sis. Yvette Evans, he considers her his greatest blessing. Together, they are proud parents of two sons, a daughter-in-law, four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Both Elder and Sister Evans received the gift of the Holy Ghost in January 1980 at Rehoboth Temple Church of Christ under Bishop Kenneth L. Bligen’s leadership. 

Throughout his life, Elder Evans has been active in numerous church roles—usher, Brotherhood member, youth choir participant, Armor Bearers Young Peoples Union (ABYPU), prayer band leader, prison ministry worker, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Pastor Inner Circle Committee. He pursued higher education in accounting and business management at Wilmington College and Franklin University. After over 30 years of dedicated service, Elder Evans and Sis. Evans retired as full-time employees of the State of Ohio, embodying a life committed both to faith and service.
